2016 Newsletter

Dear Friends, Partners and Associates of ICLD,

With gratitude to God, we celebrate His faithfulness to us as the ICLD family in the year 2016. We would also like to thank all our partners, friends and associates for your great contributions to the work in the year 2016. May the Lord greatly bless, reward and enlarge you.

– ICLD Admin Team

Praise to our God for a successful 2016. This year has been full of challenges and changes at the Institute. Mattie Görgens was replaced at the admin desk by Christelle Smith and a new desk of ICLD Operations/Project Manager is now headed by Tshego Motaung. ICLD finances have grown but it is still overstretched. I take this opportunity to thank all those who have contributed financially to ICLD since inception and particularly in 2016. The Lord is your reward and He is taking you to a higher ground.

2017 is the year that ICLD and associate ministries across Africa host the Africa Leadership Summit in Jerusalem. This year's ALS is a step further with the launch of the Africa Israel Chamber of Commerce (AICC). See

Please take note of the AICC information evening on 16 February 2017 as well as the ICLD leadership training program dates also in 2017.

My book, Nation Building – A Biblical Perspective, was launched on my birthday at the Waterkloof Golf Course Pretoria. I take the opportunity to thank all those who made the event a huge success. You may order the book from ICLD office at

Lastly, I want to remind all that the cross of Jesus Christ has made the difference so that the blessings of Abraham have become available to all. However, Christians have to learn to become nation builders and build cities, systems and sectors of society on the Abrahamic covenant as it has been brought to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

On behalf of ICLD team, I wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new 2017.

The Lord is coming!

Voter Education Campaign

Since 2014, the Institute for Christian Leadership Development has engaged with the Independent Electoral Commission with a mandate to provide Voter Education first for the church and then through the church to the wider South African population. The Voter Education campaign focuses on non-negotiable values that should guide the electorate to avoid sentiments during voting. We then discuss the strategy for each church group to educate their members as well as their immediate community. This exercise is preparatory towards the 2019 General Elections.

This year we were able to test the waters with the local government election, the participation and responses ICLD received have been a motivation to pursue the programme further with the 2019 election.
