10. The Lamb Leadership Model Synopsis of Course Content

1. Introducing God

The Institute for Christian Leadership Development is commissioned to harvest Godly leaders for nations and societies. A leader may not be Godly unless He/she knows God. This study aims to introduce a basic biblical knowledge of the person of the Most-High God. It is anticipated that this initial introduction will create a life-long hunger and an emulation of the divine nature towards the transformation of the individual and consequently of society. The invitation to know God and represent Him is both challenging and wonderful!

2. The God Connection – Priesthood

In biblical thinking, priesthood translates to leadership. In the study of the new priesthood, we learn how a leader may establish connection with God. We also learn how a leader may connect professional practice, community and nation to God such that the presence of God may facilitate holistic development.

3. The God Connection – Effective Prayer

Jesus Christ taught His disciples to pray. The disciples, having been taught prayer demonstrate a quality of leadership that may be described as “out of this world”. Prayer provides the platform for man to interact with God, to secure the divine perspectives on issues and to ensure that the will of God is done in our world. Power drawn in the place of prayer positions a leader to be courageous in the face of evil and to triumph in adversity. Prayer is a divine privilege not to be missed.

4. The God Connection – Leadership and the Prophetic Ministry

God speaks to leaders and nations through prophets. Every Godly leader must benefit from the ministry of prophets and be sensitive to the voice of God. A Godly leader is called to be prophetic without necessarily being a prophet. What categories of prophetic ministry are observable in scriptures? What pitfalls must be avoided in the prophetic realm? How should a Godly leader process prophecy?

5. Hinderances to Godly Leadership in Society

It is the desire of every organization, community and nation to be led by virtuous leaders. Why not? Unfortunately, there is an increase of unethical, immoral and heartless leaders. What is the future that the Bible forecast in terms of the conflict between the wicked and the righteous? What measures should a group of people put in place in order to avoid being led by the ungodly. How does a Godly leader thrive in the wake of wickedness? Is it possible to prepare a critical mass of believers who maintain eternal vigilance over their nation and community?

6. Biblical Leadership Principles

Biblical principles are eternal, universal, transnational and unalterable. However, every generation must have leaders who interpret and apply the scriptures correctly in order that the community he/she leads may be illuminated from heaven and enlightened. The scriptures apply to all fields of human endeavor. Scriptural principles are designed to bring about the renaissance, elevate human reasoning, cultivate morality and anchor development.

7. Covenant Driven Leadership

God is a Covenant keeping King of the universe. Every leader raised to serve the interest of God’s Kingdom need to understand and apply biblical covenants both vertically and horizontally. Scriptural covenants empower Godly leaders. Ungodly leaders are also sustained by evil covenants. All things are undergirded by one covenant or another.

8. Nation Building – A Biblical Perspective

This session is a summary of the book titled Nation Building – A biblical Perspective. It’s a call to Christians to become nation builders and to employ biblical principles in the reconstruction of communities of the world.

9. Leadership and Culture

What does the bible say about the culture of nations, the “new normal” and the globalization agenda? What does the Christian leader need to know? What does the Christian leader need to do? The gospel of the Kingdom of God presents the culture of heaven on earth.

10. The Lamb Leadership Model

Jesus Christ is the model leader. All Godly leaders must be taught of Christ, develop the mind of Christ and do all things to the glory of God.
